Business: Australia's top corporate watchdog has vowed to keep the investigation of
James Hardie Industries as a top priority despite the building materials group striking
an agreement with the NSW government to pay victims. The value of Australian takeover
activity has plunged this year from a bumper harvest for corporate financiers and advisers
in 2004, but the number of mergers and acquisitions increased to the highest levels recorded
this decade. The Qantas board is expected to approve the launch of Jetstar International
on Wednesday and allow a $20 billion order for up to 100 long-haul aircraft.

Sport: Anthony Mundine landed the first blow yesterday in the build-up to his much-anticipated
clash against WA's Danny Green in the eastern states next year by securing top billing
on Sunday's card at Challenge Stadium.
